Arts Education Brown Bag Lunch :: The Arts Education Master Plan

  • San Francisco Public Library, Latino/Hispanic Community Room A (downstairs, near cafe) 100 Larkin Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

The Arts Education Brown Bag series is a bi-monthly event where we bring lunch to the library and learn from our arts education colleagues.

This session will be led by consultants from Third Plateau and Olive Grove, the strategy firms that SFUSD has engaged to manage the AEMP refresh process. Facilitators will include Paul Perry and Somoh Supharukchinda, two directors from Third Plateau. Paul is a former teacher, assistant principal, and nonprofit executive for various education organizations; Somoh has managed policy, programs, and partnerships for state and district education agencies and nonprofits.

In 2006, the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) rolled out the Arts Education Master Plan (AEMP) as a blueprint for how to integrate the arts into students' daily learning. Now, as SFUSD embarks on a year-long process to refresh the AEMP, it seeks to learn from the experiences of a broad range of stakeholders -- community partners, teachers, parents, and students -- on what is going well with arts education and what opportunities exist to improve arts education. Given your leadership (the AEABA's) in the arts community, we invite you to join us for a focus group to share your insights.

Join us to represent your experiences working with this and other school districts.
