At our arts education partnership showcase we will bring some of our most successful practitioners together to discuss what makes their collaborations work.
The Contemporary Jewish Museum & San Francisco Public Library
Art & Literacy program

San Francisco Symphony & SFUSD
Music and Mentors facilitates professional instrument coaching at all middle and high schools with instrumental music instruction in SFUSD. A team of 20 teaching artists make weekly visits to music classes and pull out sectionals to instruct, encourage, coach, and teach students on one particular instrument (that the site music teacher may or may not be a specialist on).

Community Music Center (CMC) and SFUSD
Presenters: Sofia Fojas,Program Administrator for Cultural Equity and Social Justice in the Arts Visual and Performing Arts Department, Curriculum and Instruction; Tregar Otton, CMC teaching artist (violin) and Sylvia Sherman, CMC Program Director
Mariachi Program: SF Unified School District collaborates with Community Music Center to deliver culturally responsive music education in SF elementary, middle and high schools. Presenters will discuss the program including curriculum and professional development, collaboration between teaching artists and music teachers, student recruitment, and alignment with SFUSD goals of equity and access to high quality education
