Ragazzi Boys Chorus (www.ragazzi.org), San Francisco Bay Area’s premier choral organization for boys, seeks an inspired and vibrant Communications, Development, and Communications Manager.
Ragazzi begins its 35th season under the artistic and administrative leadership of Kent Jue. We provide exceptional educational and performance opportunities for boys in the art of choral singing. Our thriving organization serves over 175 boys and young men, ages 5–18, from 100 schools and 30 cities. Boys progress through six tiered ensembles as they achieve musical and developmental benchmarks. We empower our choristers to create positive change in their communities and develop young men of character and distinction. Ragazzi produces its own concert series and regularly collaborates with such ensembles as the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Symphony Silicon Valley, and Opera San Jose. Ragazzi is supported by 14 teaching artists and six administrators. Our robust program includes a comprehensive theory program, a sleep-away camp, and annual tours.
The Communications, Development, and Recruiting Manager (CDRM) is responsible for articulating Ragazzi’s brand to a broad range of community constituents. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the CDRM serves as the first point of contact for interested families, creates an information stream for current families and friends, and assists with development tasks. As part of the administrative team, the CDRM assists with rehearsal evening responsibilities, concerts, and other special events. Duties include:
Develop and produce newsletters (weekly parent emails, quarterly audience-facing newsletters)
Write promotional materials, website content, articles, publications, and other communication materials as required
Proofread and edit documents
Maintain Constant Contact database
Coordinate and maintain website and social media platforms
Upload and archive digital media
Liaise with PR firm
Coordinate and produce programs for in-house concerts
Coordinate communications with contracted public relations vendor
Produce recruitment content, flyers, graphics, banners
Schedule banner placements and hangs.
Develop and execute school and community outreach plan, send PTA/school appeals
Serve as a point person for incoming chorister inquiries and auditions
Coordinate SingFest (recruiting event) with directors, prospective choristers, families, and volunteers
Work with Board Development Chair to facilitate Annual Fund and other fundraising events
Maintain Salesforce donor database, keep accurate files and records, process gift acknowledgment and tax receipts
Write thank-you notes and coordinate other donor touches
Assist with grant proposals, in collaboration with grant writer
Manage grant documentation and timelines
Assist on rehearsal evenings including set-up, arrival and dismissal
Assist with concerts and special events
Other duties as assigned

Graphic or visual design production
Typical work hours include 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM for up to four weeknight rehearsals, and 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on non-rehearsal weekdays and weekend events as required. The CDRM will typically work from the Ragazzi offices in Redwood City and will need reliable transportation to run errands and to access off-site events, and be able to move and lift supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds. A background check, and full COVID-19 vaccination, as permitted by law, are required. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and are required to have US residency.
Compensation: 1.0 FTE; Salary $63,000-$68,000, depending on experience; 10 accrued vacation days; 10 Ragazzi holidays, 10 accrued sick days. Ragazzi employees are eligible to be enrolled in CalSavers. An annual $6,000 stipend is offered in lieu of other benefits.
