BAYAC AmeriCorps collaborates with over 40 agencies in schools and community-based organizations to serve youth and families in the San Francisco Bay Area. As part of AmeriCorps, BAYAC Members commit to a full-time (40 hours/week) term of service in the Bay Area's most high-need communities, working to provide youth with opportunities for meaningful engagement, skill building, and emotional and social development.
Host Site: Youth Art Exchange
The Program Assistant at Youth Art Exchange (YAX) supports implementation of YAX programming, outreach, events, and youth leadership. The Program Assistant will work with program staff to ensure the success of our free In School and After School arts programs for San Francisco public high school students at YAX’s [x]space arts hub in the Excelsior and YAX Studios at BGCSF in the Mission.
The Program Assistant will gain skills and experience in data management, program design and implementation, and learn about nonprofit organizations, arts education, and youth development. YAX is a small organization, and interns and volunteers are an integral part of the YAX team and community.
