Bay Area online arts education resources

Our list of classes for youth, and resources for the parents and teachers who support their creativity, skills, and well-being. The Arts Education Alliance of the Bay Area is working hard to provide applicable, useful resources to keep our constituents engaged and learning through the arts. The following is a list of arts focused classes, art prompts, and movement breaks to connect, move your body and release any pent up energy. These resources are from organizations who are local to the San Francisco Bay Area. They are likely available to provide virtual class visits and may already have a relationship with your school district. Keep checking back - we’ll continue to add to this list. Parent Lead Activities & Open Ended Artist Prompts: Music Is First PreK - 5th - Music activities, music literacy, making instruments for parents/educators to do with their kids/students California Shakespeare Theater 8-18yrs - A library of in-depth study guides available to teachers and students everywhere. Please feel free to share these resources widely. Galileo Learning K-5th - Daily Hands-on STEAM projects. FXFD First Exposure 12-18yrs - Photography Prompts Art in Acton K-8th grade - Visual arts lessons with videos, daily streaming links, museum links, at home videos. Where Art Lives program 4th-12th grade - Worksheets and power points to help students learn how to draw graffiti-style letters and words. San Francisco Children's Art Center 4-10yrs - Visual arts activities for families that are open-ended in nature with a process-oriented approach to exploring everyday materials that most families already have at home. Jewish Contemporary Museum Need a cure for #homeschooling Monday madness? We’ll be sharing remote learning resources, featuring bite-sized activities, prompts, and worksheets to kick off the school week on Mondays Streaming on Face Book, Instagram or YouTube:

Wendy Soneson 10-99 yrs - Watercolor lessons podcasts articles and private lessons Project Commotion 2 yrs- Teens - Movement lessons for children and adults (developmental movement, dance, martial arts, tumbling, circus) Dance Mission Teens/Adults - For the classes being offered through Dance Mission Theater. Please be sure to sign up at least 15 minutes early as the Zoom link is emailed (to the email address connected to your Mindbody account) 10 minutes prior to class. Audible Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages. Virtual School Activities A collection of sites to live webcams, virtual tours/trips, and other miscellaneous fun educational sites PBS Kids Daily News Letter PBS KIDS’ new weekday newsletter offers activities and tips you can use to help kids play and learn at home. PBS Kids The PBS KIDS Video app gives kids and parents access to thousands of free videos, including full episodes and clips from top PBS KIDS series. Home School Anti -Oppressive Resources A small collection of crowdsourced anti-oppressive, anti-racist home school curriculum ideas and resources for families. The Art of Education University Down loadable document 100 Silly Drawing Prompts to Engage Your Students UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center Download this App for an introduction to mindfulness meditation that you can practice in English or Spanish. For Teaching Artists Learn where to post your online classes, access resources that will help you make the transition to producing online content. Teaching art online The shifting to online class content requires educators to obtain new technical skills, restructure of how they deliver their content, develop effective ways to connect with their students through cyberspace in a way that builds a sense of community. This can be over whelming and may seem unachievable.
