Media is constantly reframing realty to denigrate African-American heroes. Rasheed Shabazz teaches his students to use social media and memes to take back the narrative. Rasheed Shabazz is a creative cultural communicator, who works as a journalist, photographer, and educator. Rasheed is now a retention specialist for Skyline College where he is developing Brothers Achieving Milestones, an initiative for men of color. Rasheed is also Community Engagement Manager for the Brotherhood of Elders Network, an intergenerational group of Black men in the Bay Area. He completed his Bachelors in African American Studies and Political Science at Cal.
