Seeking a Hip Hop Teaching Artist for Summer 2025 Prescott Circus Theatre is looking for a Hip Hop teaching artist to inspire and guide our students during the 2025 summer program. The ideal candidate will help students build confidence in expressing themselves through movement and collaborate with them to create an original dance piece for our July public performances. About PCT’s Summer Program Prescott Circus Theatre’s 6-week summer program combines Circus Arts, Academic Enrichment, and Leadership Training, serving 25-30 students (ages 8–21). Participants train with professional artists in circus and performing arts through a culturally relevant and responsive curriculum, while also engaging in academic activities to strengthen math, literacy, and critical thinking skills. The program culminates in a summer performance series, historically drawing 1,000+ audience members, where students showcase their work. Older youth also have additional performance opportunities, including collaborations with Circus Bella, a professional circus company. We are seeking leading teaching artists and specialty guest artists for select school sites in Oakland for one and future two semester programs that take place 1-2 afternoons each week. PCT teaching artists guide youth participants through fostering supportive relationships, building new skills, and creating original circus and theatre performances. As a social circus program, our Teaching Artists prioritize the daily relational and creative process over “product” while holding high expectations of our students and of ourselves.
