Women’s Audio Mission (WAM) is a San-Francisco- based nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women and gender-expansive individuals in music technology and digital media production, a field in which these individuals are critically underrepresented (less than 5%). WAM uses music and media to attract 2,000+ women/girls/ gender-expansive individuals a year to creative technology studies/careers, and believes that women/gender-expansive individuals’ participation in creative technology will expand the voice of music and media, ensuring that women/gender-expansive individuals' views and ideas are conveyed in popular culture. Founded in 2003, WAM has grown exponentially to serve 50+ school partners across three school districts and includes two recording studios we own in San Francisco, an educational lab space in Oakland, and global reach online to 30+ countries. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Education, the Program Manager will be responsible for the overall program management of the Girls on the Mic program that provides audio technology classes to girls and gender-expansive youth ages 11-18. The Program Manager collaborates with the Director of Education and the Education Coordinator to ensure strong program outcomes including curriculum development, collecting and maintaining accurate program data, creating program grant reports for the Director of Education, and managing the instructional staff including WAM interns. The ideal candidate has experience teaching youth in a classroom setting (min. 3 years), education in and experience with audio technology, and a background in program coordination including scheduling and managing volunteers or other staff. The successful applicant will be someone who is passionate about our mission of advancing women, girls, and gender-expansive people in the fields of music, media, and technology.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities
Program Management and Outreach (45%)
● Manage curriculum and class activities development and documentation including in-person and on-demand modules.
● Collects and maintains accurate student enrollment data, paperwork and attendance and enters into databases in a timely fashion with support from the Education Coordinator.
● Provides monthly grant reports to the Executive Director (e.g. DCYF monthly report) and attends grant partners meetings (e.g. DCYF, SFUSD, OUSD).
● Designs and implements engagement and outreach strategies for the Girls on the Mic program, including seeking new school partners and sites, finding education resources to promote GOTM, creating newsletters and social media posts and attending virtual/in-person events (e.g., school partner meetings, school project showcase fairs, Expanding Your Horizons weekend conferences)
● Oversee equipment management for GOTM programs with support from the Education Coordinator.
Team Management (35%)
● Manage and supervise part time GOTM instructor team, including weekly check-ins; and ensure alignment with curriculum and program outcomes.
● Manage WAM interns in GOTM instructional settings and provide feedback on intern performance as GOTM program mentors/teaching assistants to WAM Intern Manager.
● Coordinate networking and professional development opportunities for GOTM instructor team.
Instruction (15%)
● As program needs require, provides instruction for Girls on the Mic classes, offered to middle school girls ages 11-18. Classes take place in WAM's studio and at our partner San Francisco and Oakland schools. Local travel is required between WAM’s studios, offices and school partner sites. Roughly 2-4 classes per week.
Other (5%)
● Participates in professional development opportunities, and skill-enhancing programs as determined by WAM’s leadership team.
● Support other education programs when needed
● Support WAM’s events on and offsite as needed, including conferences, Local Sirens series performances, member and donor events, major fundraisers and others.
● General nonprofit administrative tasks associated with the effective operation of the organization.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
● Educational background and/or equivalent experience in audio technology
● 3+ years of hands on instructional experience with youth and/or adults in classroom setting
● Some experience creating and/or implementing course syllabi, lesson plans, etc.
● 2+ years of experience leading nonprofit program management efforts
● 3+ years of program coordination and/or administrative work, including scheduling, managing volunteers, and/or other staff
● Demonstrated experience managing emerging and entry level professionals
● Experience implementing program evaluation methods, learning outcomes, etc.
● Experience managing program budgets
● Experience using and setting up audio software such as Garageband, Pro Tools or similar, and audio equipment such as microphones, audio interfaces, mixing consoles and speakers
● Self-starter with demonstrated curiosity to learn new skills related to audio technology, youth development, and education technology
● Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
● Excellent verbal and written skills
Preferred Qualifications
● Bilingual in Spanish
● Experience with social media management
● Experience with culturally-responsive teaching

Position Summary
This part-time entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on middle and high school students through music and audio education. Successful incumbents will have at least 3 years of hands on teaching experience, a passion for audio, and a commitment to empowering young voices.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities
● Deliver engaging Girls on the Mic classes to middle and high school students (ages 11-18) on a weekly basis.
● Facilitate in-person classes, with potential for virtual or hybrid sessions based on school district policies and needs.
● Travel between WAM's studios and office in San Francisco and partner school sites.
● Collaborate with the program team to maintain and enhance standardized curriculum, ensuring a dynamic and impactful learning experience.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Manager is responsible for actively supporting the fund development and cultivation activities of WAM. The successful candidate will be able to craft grant proposals and reports in a clear and compelling manner and manage a pipeline of institutional funding requests that make up a significant portion of WAM’s revenue. Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources to research and track grants and prospects. The successful applicant will be someone who is passionate about our mission of advancing women/girls/gender-expansive individuals in the fields of music, media, and technology, and excited to work with a fast-paced, growing, mission-driven non-profit organization. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities
● Solicits and writes grant proposals, including supporting documents and reports for government, foundation and corporations;
● Creates, maintains and manages a comprehensive annual grant proposal calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports;
● In close collaboration with the Director of Development and ED, assembles and submits grant requests, including proposals, presentations and supporting documents such as budgets and letters of support;
● Gains comprehensive knowledge of the history, structure, programs and financial needs of the organization;
● Researches grant opportunities from government and non-government sources;
● Establishes and maintains relationships with funder contacts and program officers;
● Assists with funder site visits and the planning and execution of funder events;
● Ensures prompt acknowledgement of grants;
● Maintains records, database and grants management electronic system (Salesforce), ensuring that databases are accurate and comprehensive;
● Generates queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed;

Qualifications
● Proven track record of achieving revenue targets of over $750,000 annually.
● 3 -5 years minimum of grant writing, fundraising and relevant experience are required.
● A high level of computer literacy required, including familiarity with Salesforce, Foundation Center databases, Guidestar and Microsoft Office programs.
● Candidates must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities: Program Administration (30%) ● Oversees all day-to-day logistics for Girls on the Mic youth program, including class booking, networking, materials and content management, and team supervision ● Oversee curriculum and class activities development and documentation including in-person and on-demand modules, with support from Director of Education ● Collects and maintains accurate student enrollment data, paperwork and attendance and enters into databases in a timely fashion ● Provides monthly grant reports and other ongoing program data to the WAM leadership team ● Oversees equipment management for GOTM programs ● Finding education resources to promote GOTM, creating newsletters and social media posts in collaboration with Marketing Manager ● Tracks program expenses, including transportation (BART, Lyft) and materials ● Participates in professional development opportunities, and skill-enhancing programs as determined by WAM’s leadership team Team Management, Coaching and Training (40%) ● Manage and supervise part time GOTM instructor team including regular check-ins and ensuring alignment with curriculum and program outcomes ● Manage WAM interns in GOTM instructional settings and provide feedback to WAM Intern Manager on intern performance as mentors/teaching assistants ● Monitors and approves weekly timesheets for payroll ● Ensure necessary staff availability and coverage for classes, and rolling recruitment of instructors ● Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of new GOTM instructors, with support from Operations Manager ● Leads reflective, inquiry-based Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings with GOTM instructors ● Coordinates networking and professional development opportunities for the instructor team ● Supports instructors with coaching, including observation and evaluation, offering feedback and other support with curriculum and instruction needs Networking and Partnership Development (20%) ● Designs and implements engagement and outreach strategies for the Girls on the Mic program, including seeking new school partners and sites ● Regularly connects with school partners to ensure program success ● Attends virtual/in-person events (e.g., school partner meetings, district meetings, school project showcase fairs, Expanding Your Horizons weekend conferences) ● Builds partnerships with other Bay Area youth program organizations to implement integrated programs Other (10%) ● Provides instruction for Girls on the Mic classes, when coverage is necessary ● Support WAM’s events on and offsite as needed, including conferences, Local Sirens series performances, member and donor events, major fundraisers and others. ● General nonprofit administrative tasks associated with the effective operation of the organization. Required Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree ● 3+ years of instructional experience with youth in classroom setting ● 2+ years of program coordination and/or administrative work, including scheduling, managing volunteers, and/or other staff ● 1+ years supervising educators and providing support and feedback ● Educational background and/or equivalent experience in audio technology ● Experience using and setting up audio software such as Garageband, Pro Tools or similar, and audio equipment such as microphones, audio interfaces, mixing consoles and speakers ● Self-starter ● Demonstrated curiosity to learn new skills related to audio technology, youth development, and education technology ● Strong organizational skills ● Exceptional attention to detail ● Excellent verbal and written skills ● Commitment to WAM’s mission to advance women, girls, and gender-expansive people in the fields of music, media, and technology. The Internship Manager plays a critical role in recruiting intern candidates, creating, facilitating and leading interns as they work cross-organizationally on projects. This position is also responsible for communications and engagement strategies of intern graduates to increase job placements. The Internship Program Manager collaborates with all members of the WAM staff. The ideal candidate has experience in education (3-4 years of education and/or office administration), managing youth and/or emerging professionals, program coordination, including scheduling and overseeing volunteers or other staff and training in audio technology. The successful applicant will be someone who is passionate about WAM’s mission of advancing women, girls and gender-expansive folks in the fields of music, media and technology. About WAM Education Programs: Girls on the Mic is a groundbreaking after-school program that provides 2,000+ San Francisco Bay Area girls (96% low income, 92% girls of color, ages 11-18) from under-resourced communities per year with free, hands-on music production and media arts training in a professional studio environment and through our 50+ school partners. The Girls on the Mic curriculum is rooted in the National Core Media Arts and California Performing Arts Standards and amplifies the voices and creativity of girls and gender-diverse youth. WAM Core Adult Classes provide rigorous, hands-on certification training in professional audio and the recording arts, led by award-winning women instructors in WAM’s world class recording studios. Primary Objectives and Responsibilities: Internship Program Management (55%) ● Facilitates the interview and selection process for each semester’s intern cohort (3 times annually). ● Leads orientation and training sessions for interns to familiarize them with the organization, our programs, the studios’ operations and set clear expectations. ● Organizes and facilitates professional development, networking and shadowing opportunities with WAM’s corporate partners. ● Provides daily oversight and management of interns. ● Oversees day-to-day scheduling of interns and their responsibilities, including supporting Girls on the Mic and adult classes, studio sessions, studio maintenance, program admin, event support, and other tasks. ● Coordinates regularly with WAM staff on projects in need of support and provides supervision of interns to ensure timely and effective completion. ● Provides soft skills and basic technical training and feedback (communications, professional protocols, basic audio skills, resumes, etc.) to interns. ● Acts as point of contact for WAM’s Internship Program graduates, engaging them as volunteers, mentors, and for special professional development opportunities. ● Implements and maintains an effective database to track interns internally and after graduation. Job Placement and Career Counseling (25%) ● Acts as a liaison to companies, studios, venues, etc. that seek to hire WAM’s graduates or interns. ● Searches company websites and other job boards for possible audio opportunities and disseminates to current and past interns and students. ● Keeps WAM’s job board current and populated with opportunities. ● Coordinates incoming career opportunities and provides support to Director of Education in finding interns (past and present) with matching skill sets. ● Follows up with companies to get feedback on recent placements. ● Maintains placement data in intern database. Internship Graduates/Membership Program Engagement & Coordination (10%) ● Works to increase engagement of WAM’s intern graduates and members through regular communication and events. ● Attends, hosts and/or facilitates events for members and intern graduates. ● Manages member relationships and follows up on lapsed memberships, working with WAM’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. ● Manages online community forum(s), including Facebook groups, job board, and future Slack, Discord, etc. channels to build network and resources available for members and intern graduates. Conferences & Events (10%) ● Provides coordination and production support for events on and offsite as needed, including conferences, performances, studio events, and others. ● Oversees intern scheduling and tasks related to conferences and events.
